In 2016 we embarked on our third annual trip to the mountains. No words can describe the beauty and the peace that overwhelms us as we step out of the silverado, put on our boots, and set out in the bluffs and hills of New Mexico. Not going to lie, the prep it takes to leave the home front is exhausting and at times brings in to question wether or not to go... If I could encourage you with one thing today, that would be to always choose YES to being active and getting outside. You will never regret it. We - and by we, I primarily mean my husband- preps all the gear needed for trip... after weeks of preparation we set out with tired hearts and bodies, travel 24+ hours straight, and arrive to our destination: the wilderness. There is something special about stepping out, strapping on my camera (and now a little one), and allowing the solitude of the wilderness to refresh my mind and spirit. Stripping away all distractions, I sense the spirit of the Lord so clearly. And where His Spirit is there IS freedom. (2 Cor. 3:17). Chains that I didn't know were hindering me or were even there are broken. Christ is with me. He is with us. If you haven't experienced His love and His freedom I encourage you to seek Him. (Deut. 4:29, Jer. 29:13). You will find Him.

Thank you Lord for the great harvest of sheds!! We truly feel so blessed. If you shed hunt at all you know that finding 3 sheds in one day is a haul. Especially if you are scouring your own neck of the woods. And not only did we find three sheds... but Corey and I matched up a set over a quarter mile apart! Our first match set! This set has adorned each one of our night stands... How appropriate right?!
Corey got us girls out morel mushroom hunting! Our sweet Edie girl was 10 days old in these pics. She loved it! I already know she's going to be dad's little adventure buddy.

I had the opportunity to visit my great friend, Kay, and her husband, Jake, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. What an exciting trip filled with coffee shops, food made from local produce, a culture engrossed in eco-friendly ways of life, and long boarding... It was some much needed adventure for this girl's heart. I can't wait to go back again!
Being that it was 45 degrees (in February, mind you), our little family headed out into the woods in hopes to scoop up a few sheds. No luck this time, but we did enjoy our time together. Our sweet little girl loves her pack. She talks the entire time and stretches out her hands in hopes to touch everything that is within reach. She takes after her dad with a love for the great outdoors. Holla. I am a blessed woman!
